So does that mean if I praise this new development, will I get free Skinny Chai Lattes for life???

Originally posted on Variety:

As Hollywood takes advantage of new digital platforms to distribute — and monetize — its content, Starbucks is about to play a more important role for studios as a revenue source.

The coffee chain said Wednesday it has brewed up a new deal with Google to provide free in-store Wi-Fi to customers using laptops, tablets and smartphones in its stores that will be ten times faster than the current wireless service it offers through AT&T.

Starbucks plans to convert more than 7,000 stores in the U.S. to the faster network. AT&T will continue to provide Internet access during the transition.

Starbucks and Google will also co-develop a new Starbucks Digital Network, which currently provides access to news and entertainment from sources like the Wall Street Journal, Apple’s iTunes, USA Today, ESPN, Yahoo! Finance, Zagat, Marvel Digital Comics, Nick Jr. Boost, SnagFilms, Yahoo! entertainment and Starbucks’ own entertainment arm.

Denzel Washington Talks Up Broadway Return

lboogie81:

I am SO EXCITED about this news! I better save my pennies for Spring 2014.

Originally posted on Variety:

For anyone worried that all the really big stars would be packed onto Broadway in the fall, Denzel Washington has come along to add some wattage to the spring lineup.

Nothing has been confirmed on the Main Stem, but during press duties for his new film “2 Guns,” the thesp, one of Broadway’s top box office draws, has been talking up a starring gig in a new revival of “A Raisin in the Sun.” To hear Washington tell it, the show will start previews in March in a production that will reunite him with director Kenny Leon and producer Scott Rudin, also collaborators on his Tony-winning turn in “Fences” in 2010. Diahann Carroll, Anika Noni Rose and Sophie Okonedo are among the actresses rumored to be joining him in “Raisin.”

If it materializes, “Raisin” — a textbook example of what has become one of Broadway’s most consistently profitable production models — would…

Let the hype for Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience sequel officially begin!

Today, the blue-eyed soul star dropped the visuals for his new record “Take Back The Night,” the first single lifted from his upcoming The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 album.

When Timberlake laid the vocals for the groovy track, produced by Timberland, it’s obvious that he channeled his inner Michael Jackson — most likely from the King of Pop’s Off The Wall days. The video shows the singer dancing to the old-funk sound on the streets of New York City and live onstage.
