A Farewell to Women’s History Month

As we end Women’s History Month today, let’s make an effort to incorporate these amazing women in our everyday conversations and creative processes!

Originally posted on theradicalidea:

Just like last year, Women’s History Month (aka, March) got the best of me and I didn’t manage to post NEARLY as much content as I had originally intended.

For example, I had intended to write a post about CEDAW, and the epidemic that is gender-based violence, but I never got to. (Stay tuned, though, it’s still coming).

I meant to write up more profiles in history, but I never got the chance.  I hope to be able to put up that content eventually as well, and why not?  Why should women’s history be confined to one month?  Women have been a part of the history of every society.  We have played a role in numerous social movements, been a driving force behind several of them.  Women’s history shouldn’t even BE a separate subject from the rest of history, and it is my goal to publish the rest of my…

In addition to creating sandals, the women also craft scarves, leather bags, and hand-dyes totes, among other items. The brand comes at a time when Ugandan women often have limited resources and very little control over what they produce, according to the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

Movie Music Scenes That’ll Make You Dance, Sing And Upload To YouTube

I love great moments in movies that make you want to get up and dance! These are a few of my favorites!

We’d like to think the greatest cinematic moments happen when a music scene induces some serious audience toe-tapping and head-bobbing. Then head-bobbing gets you chair-bouncing. And chair-bouncing just turns into all-out dancing like a fool. All while singing along as if you’ve missed your true calling in life, of course.

Check out our list of the happiest music movie moments that we turn to over and over again.

13 Going on 30: “Thriller”
In an attempt to liven up the crowd, Jenna (Jennifer Garner), a 13-year-old who woke up in her 30-year-old body, gets the DJ to spin the Michael Jackson classic and makes her way onto the dance floor alone. At first, everyone thinks she’s crazy as she lets her inner teen shine through, but, of course, by the end they’re all doing the classic “Thriller” dance, too.

This Week In Music (V.1): Beyoncé x Kimye x Chris Brown

Originally posted on Music Moving Forward:

Beyoncé performed her last show of the Mrs. Carter World Tour in Lisbon and she broke into tears after thanking the fans for all of their support. Check out the clip below:

As for live performances John Legend took to the stage to perform his hit, ‘All of Me’ on Jimmy Kimmel. While I am a fan of the song I am not a fan of the EDM version played on the airwaves during rush hour. A ballad never needs to be turned to techno. It takes away from the essence of it.
