The Foo Fighters will release an as-yet untitled HBO series to accompany their eighth album and 20th anniversary.
Directed by Foos frontman Dave Grohl, the docu-series follows the band during tours to Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington D.C. and New York where they tap into the “musical heritage and cultural fabric” of each city. Continuing the tradition set up by Grohl’s 2013 Sundance documentary about Los Angeles recording studio Sound City, this project will show the Foos at “legendary studio integral to the unique history and character of each [city’s] location” while they record one song in each place.
