‘Scandal’ Star Columbus Short Leaving Show Amid Domestic Abuse Charges

lboogie81:

I confirmed this on a hutch last week and I just hope Mr. Short gets the time to regroup and get the help he needs to move forward.

Originally posted on Variety:

The fate of Columbus Short’s “Scandal” character Harrison was left hanging in the balance as the newly reinstated B613 boss Rowan (Joe Morton) held him at gunpoint in the final minutes of the season-three finale.

Though “Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes recently told Jimmy Kimmel that she couldn’t say whether Harrison was dead or alive, Short has now confirmed he will not return for season four of the popular ABC drama.

“At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for three years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today,” Short said in a statement. “I would like to first thank Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast. Via his publicist, Short has issued a statement directly to the show.

Last Friday [Good Friday], as Scandal fans know, was the night right after the season finale. Short’s character Harrison Wright’s fate was in jeopardy after a confrontation with B613 mastermind Rowan Pope, Olivia Pope’s shady father. The show ended before viewers knew whether or not Harrison had been shot.

Short has been going through some changes in his personal life as well. His currently estranged wife, Tanee McCall, recently filed for divorce for the third time, alleging domestic violence on at least…
